Order Processing

We aim to process each order on the day the order is placed. We use Amazon FBA to fulfil all orders which guarantees the best service available for shipping within the United States.

How can I pay for my order?

King Kong Magnetics has got your back! We accept the following payment cards: Visa, Visa Debit and MasterCard. We also accept PayPal payments.

Is it safe to order online?

You can rest assured that shopping with King Kong Magnetics is safe. We use the most up to date security systems and encryption software to ensure your personal details such as name, address and bank details are kept safe and secure.

Can I make changes to my order?

Unfortunately, once you have placed your order it is generally not possible to amend any details, our warehouse team receive orders directly and will have already started processing your order. If you placed an order incorrectly please get in touch with us immediately and we will do our best to make any changes if we can.

What if I have not received my order?

If an item from your order is yet to arrive, please be patient as it is more than likely being shipped from one of our global warehouses in. Feel free to contact us at [email protected]  for an update on the status of an order.

Do I have to pay for customs charges on my orders? (International Customers outside of United States)

Unfortunately, King Kong Magnetics is unable to determine what customs charges may be applied to overseas shipments. All customs charges (if any) are applied at the discretion of the carrier and local laws. All customs charges will be payable by the customer and will not be covered by King Kong Magnetics. For more in depth information, we would suggest contacting your local customs office.

What should I do if I receive an incorrect or faulty item?

Please send us a message at [email protected] with your order number, the name/product code of the item you were supposed to receive and any further details. We will be in touch as soon as we can to resolve your issue.

Can I exchange an item?

Unfortunately, we are currently unable to process exchanges. You can return your item to us and place a new order to receive the item of your choice. Please see our returns policy and follow this process.

What is your returns policy?

  • Items must be returned within 14 days of receipt.
  • Items must be undamaged
  • Items must have all of the original packaging so it can be resold as new

We utilise Amazon’s fulfilment services to receive returns from our customers. Please get in touch with us and we will provide all of the necessary details for a smooth return.

Do you offer free returns?

Unfortunately, we do not offer free returns. Any returns costs will be at the customers own expense.

What if my product is faulty?

Due to the nature of our products it is unlikely that a product can be faulty. However, if you feel that this is the case please send our customer service team an email within 30 days of purchase at [email protected], with images of the faulty product and we will be in touch to resolve the issue.

How long does it take to process my return?

We aim to process your return as soon as possible, but on occasions it may take up to 21 days for your refund to be processed after you have returned your item(s) to us. If you have not been refunded after 30 days of returning the item(s), please contact us at [email protected] with the proof of postage information from your return carrier receipt and we will investigate this further.

How can I track the status of my return?

As soon as your return has been received by our warehouse team you will receive an email notification. You will then also receive an email from us to say your refund has been processed. Please note it can take 3-5 working days for the payment to show in your account, depending on the card issuer.

What Precautions should be take when handling neodymium magnets?

Rare earth neodymium magnets have a very strong attractive force which means that you have to be VERY careful when handling as they can cause unexpected pinching of the fingers or hand which can be very painful. As such these types of magnets should be handled with caution.

 

Children should be supervised at all times

Any children using the magnets should be properly supervised at all times to ensure that they are kept safe and do not put themselves at risk of any injury.

Precautions should be taken when magnet fishing by WATER especially with children

Neodymium magnets are not toys. Keep away from children. 

Pacemakers & other electrical devices

Pacemakers and other sensitive electronics (e.g. cell phones, computers) can be adversely impacted by strong magnetic fields.

If you wear a pacemaker, you must not handle magnets.

If you are using magnets to hang heavy objects, choose a weight rating that greatly exceeds the object to the hung. Our weight ratings are based on ideal conditions. Surface conditions and metal thickness greatly affect magnet capacity

Other Tips

  • Safety GLOVES should be worn when handling metal objects
  • Use CARABINERS if provided to secure your magnet
  • Ensure you tie a suitable KNOT to your magnet to stop it coming off

USE THREAD LOCK STOP…

your magnet coming undone in the water by using thread lock (glue) to secure the eye bolt.

  1. Unscrew the bolt or eye-bolt and any washers from your magnet. Be careful to see how it fits together!
  2. Add some thread lock to the thread of the bolt or eye-bolt. Use a cloth and take care as it can be a bit messy.
  3. Screw the bolt or eye-bolt back in place making sure you put any washers back also.
  4. Tighten up with a screwdriver. Make sure it is nice and tight!
  5. Leave to CURE for at least 24 hours for best results.
  6. Use a power screwdriver if you need to undo again.

Some of our kits come with thread lock in the kit. Please USE IT!

Magnets without thread lock in the kit are secured in the factory but it is recommended that you STILL CHECK your magnet’s eye bolt is super tight before using.

If a rope is not supplied with your magnet, ensure you use the correct rope to match your magnet strength. Stronger magnets require higher TENSILE RATED rope.

Tips for Looking After Your Magnet Fishing Kit

  • Neodymium whilst powerful is FRAGILE and can break if treated roughly.
  • Neodymium magnets come with a triple coating to mitigate corrosion.
  • When used underwater or outdoors in the presence of moisture, CORROSION can occur over time, which will degrade the magnetic force.
  • Make sure you CLEAN your magnet with soapy warm water after use and then keep dry – this will extend its life.
  • Dry out rope and equipment before storing
  • To avoid loss of magnet, always CHECK knots, carabiners and thread lock before using

Q: My magnet is smaller than I thought

A: The dimensions of our magnets are clearly shown in our product descriptions. The dimensions will vary depending on whether the magnet is a starter, intermediate or professional magnet. Even our smallest magnets pack a powerful punch!

Q: My magnet is weak. It doesn’t pick up what I thought it would.

A: The performance of the magnet will depend greatly on a number of factors such as how ferrous the metal is (steel/ iron) what shape it is, rust, paint, dirt etc all will have an effect. If you put it on a clean flat thick piece of steel you will not be able to move it! Plus you will get more pull if all the magnet is in contact with the object. If it’s just touching it on parts it won’t be anywhere near as strong.

Believe us when we say that you can literally hang on the rope of even our smallest starter magnet if you put it on a steel beam. We hope that by understanding how permanent magnets work your expectations will be more realistic!
